The Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) is a national facility connecting the UK community to advance innovative drug discovery. Partnership is at the core of our work and we are committed to working with innovative companies across the UK, helping to reshape drug discovery so that patients get the medicines they need faster. To achieve these aims, we have established a strategy built around four themes: 1. Introduction of new methods and workflows that increase predictivity of pre-clinical medicine discovery; 2. Working with charities, academia and industry to catalyse activity in areas of unmet patient need; 3. Deploying advanced bioanalytical technologies to deliver decision-making data packages; 4. Providing access to critical path industry skills in R&D to guide our partners’ projects. In this presentation, we will describe case studies that exemplify our work in these areas, including examples of establishing a national partnership in the area of cystic fibrosis antimicrobial resistance, and a long-term partnerships with an SME to that enables a novel drug discovery paradigm in the neuroscience area.
