Profile of Dr Jamie Scott
Jamie Scott received his Ph.D. from Strathclyde University, Scotland in 1997 with Professor William Kerr. He went on to do postdoctoral studies in total synthesis with Professor Steven Ley in Cambridge, UK. From 2001-2002 he worked as a Chemistry Teacher in Kenya with Voluntary Services Overseas. In 2003 he joined AstraZeneca as a medicinal chemist and is currently a Director in the Oncology Chemistry group working on lead generation and optimization programs. He is the author on over 80 papers and patents. In 2012 he was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry Capps Green Zomaya Award for medicinal chemistry and he held the RSC BMCS lectureship in 2017/18. Jamie has worked on treatments for metabolic diseases and oncology with a focus on small molecule and PROTAC based modalities.
