Dr Jon Hutchinson

Jon is an enzymologist with 20 years’ experience of drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry. After graduating in chemistry at the University of Durham, Jon completed a PhD at Imperial College studying mechanisms of chaperone assisted protein folding. He then undertook post-doctoral studies at the National Institute for Medical Research utilising stopped-flow, biophysical and structural techniques to investigate mechanisms of nucleotide exchange in small G-proteins. He joined GSK in 2000. Jon has a particular interest in mechanistic evaluation of enzymes and inhibitors, biochemical assay development, screening and lead generation, and leadership of early stage discovery programmes.
